Fun and Simple Games to Play With Your Dog

(a list to overcome boredom)

With all the time spent at home this past year, I think we can all agree that finding new and fun things to do around the house is no easy task. I’m sure our four-legged friends experience the same, if not more, boredom that we do. It’s a known fact that both humans and dogs alike benefit from mental and physical stimulation. Below is a list of fun, simple activities you and your dog can engage in to promote health and wellness.

Lazer Pointer

This is a favorite among our feline friends, but surprisingly a fair number of dogs love to chase that little red dot around as well. It’s great mental and physical exercise for your dog, and you don’t even have to get off the couch!

Hide and Seek

This is a fun one for both you and your dog, and you can even include the kiddos! Simply find a good hiding place and call out to your dog so they can “find” you. To make it a little trickier, call out their name quieter and quieter the closer they get to you.

Lazy Day Tip: Don’t hide people, hide treats for your pup to sniff out!

Dog Park

Dogs have a natural pack mentality. They need to socialize with other dogs as much as we need to interact with other humans. The dog park is a great, neutral space where dogs can run around and develop good social skills.

 Conclusion

It’s hard enough to keep ourselves occupied during these trying times, nevermind our dogs too. Luckily there are things out there you can do to help alleviate some of the boredom. As you read earlier, It’s really not that hard to find something fun to do with your dog. All you need is a creative imagination and love for your amazing animal.
